Female octopuses throw things at males that are harassing them
An analysis of footage of octopuses off Australia throwing silt and shells suggests that they deliberately target others, and that females do most of throwing, often at males
Same at my house. -B
When I read articles about octopi I feel strange about eating them. They seem too intelligent to eat, but also they are delicious. Quite a quandary. - C
Finding all these links took me hours. The website they originally appeared on is more or less broken and I had to find the individual links on the internet archive. Xavori was famous for being a ruthless Player Killer who was a fanatical role player. I ran into him once in another game later... so I got that going for me, which is nice.

5 stories of murder and theft that prove Ultima Online was one of the best MMOs ever | PC Gamer
Start here for a good introduction that will make the rest make sense.
7 Wizards... or are they all the same guy?
They've got to be all the same guy because there's only like 1 actor out there playing these guys. He goes by different names (e.g. Ian McKellen and Richard Harris and Michael Gambon) but really it is just the same guy. -B
Odysee Launches Out of Beta, Enabling Creators to Reclaim Power and Monetization
I'm not 100% sure I understand what Web 3.0 is. I remember Windows 3.0 which was pretty great and I'm fairly confident that's a different thing.
Calvin- is Odysee part of Web 3.0? -B
Yep, see, you've got it now! Another big feature of Web 3.0 is the decentralization of everything, which is probably more a response to the newsworthy deplatforming trend we saw in 2020. -C
So the main ones as I'm aware are green hydrogen, which is produced using wind or solar type energy. There's blue hydrogen which is made using fossil fuels but the carbon produced is captured and sequestered. And there is grey hydrogen which is some sort of already existing by-product of another industrial process. I've never heard of Pink or Turquoise hydrogen before though. -B
David Lynch's 'Dune:' The Controversial Attempt At Frank Herbert's Masterpiece
Dune is in my top 5 books of all time and I re-read it every few years. There's been 3 or 4 attempts at movies or series, none of them amazing. I'm super excited to see if this new version lives up to the original work. -B
Thanks to Caitlin for the link. This is the game that got me interested in computers and, more generally, how stuff works. I remember inserting a floppy disk and firing up MS-DOS Prompt to launch it, and that made me feel smart. And getting these little pixelated boogers to not fall to their deaths or accidentally explode in a crowd was a real achievement. I spent hours and hours playing this game, and hopefully one day I'll be able to play it again. - C
I've played a million hours of Lemmings and would happily play another million hours. -B
How to Be a Professional Dungeons & Dragons Master Hosting Games
I was recently invited to a board game bar in Memphis where they were having the D&D equivalent of pick-up games. I had to decline for now, but knowing a small percentage of the complete rules makes me think this will be something I try in the near future. - Calvin
