In the words of Bo Burnham:
It's the end of culture. Culture's over everybody, we lost!
Thanks (kind of?) to Kerry C. for sharing.
Siri is dying. Long live Susan Bennett.
An interview with the original voice of Siri. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a voice actor or if you're just curious about how programmers cobbled together a convincingly realistic robot voice, check this out. Also, it's an interactive article which is something that Typeform has been doing lately that I'm digging right now .
Packsmith: Packing Tips from Tortuga Backpacks
Another website sent to me by Brian F. Y'all need to step your game up.
For those that travel (or are constantly imagining their next adventure at least), this is a pretty cool blog. If you sign up for their newsletter, you get their packing list. I just read their "Best Travel Pants" article. Good stuff.
I was talking with my buddy Brian F. about pens the other day and he mentioned something about respecting the Field Notes branding, but finding their pens basically unusable. Brian F. is a man who knows a good pen, so I thought I'd try to educate myself a little on the world of rollerball pens. I found this delightful little article and thought I'd share.
I bet you really wish I'd sent this link out a few weeks ago, because Cinco de Mayo. Go ahead and join the waitlist so you can be prepared for Memorial Day weekend.
Infinity Mirror Rooms – Yayoi Kusama
This artist places patterns inside rooms lined with mirrors. I'd love to experience one of these rooms in person (even Phalli's Field, a room full of um, let's call them "tubes"). But for now, the closest you can get will be to watch this NPR walk-through video.
I love the look of Nike's SB line, but I've always been too afraid of looking like a poser to actually buy a pair. This website is really well-done, and full of beautiful shoes you can buy. Click at your own risk.
DDWIWDD (Dan Deacon “When I Was Done Dying”)
This is beautiful and weird, and you won't like parts of it, but other parts you'll like a lot. It's got almost as many teeth as a Lorde album. Text me if you get my joke. h/t to Andrew Millen (again) for hanging out in a cooler corner of the Internet than me and sharing links. Be like Andrew.
Every drawing I've tried to make in here has resulted in terrible, hilarious things. If you're reading this on a desktop computer, go waste a few minutes on this website. No guarantees if you click this link on your phone.
